Schnitzhofer & Associates, LLC has recently completed the structural evaluation of The Historic T.J. Collins’ Marquis Building located in the beautiful historic downtown Staunton, VA. Working with the original T.J. Collins drawings dating 1896, provided to S&A by The Historic Staunton Foundation: http://www.historicstaunton.org/ S&A was tasked with evaluating the adequacy of the existing structure. Most likely as a result of field changes or revisions to the building after the drawings were complete, we found that the building was altered from the original drawings and that the T.J. Collins’ drawings did not accurately represent the in-place structure. An exciting discovery for us!
