We have worked with Sevenodd, a custom builder based in Staunton, Virginia, on several historic renovation projects. Here, owner Todd Fowler describes his experience working with S&A.

First I would like to point out that over my 25 year career I have dealt with three or four engineering firms and have never been provided with the level or service that S+A has provided. The firm has provided me with both residential and commercial engineering- comprising of major structural steel in an 1800’s historic building, flood zone concrete wall design, materials and installation analysis, design consultation, inspections and documentation all in the most timely and professional manner I have ever experienced.

Cost

When I need engineering, I need it and usually don’t care what it costs. But in these economic and competitive times, S+A has always provided a high level of service at very fair pricing. Also changes and and additional services are always very reasonable.

Construction Plans

S+A has provided very professional construction plans when needed for city and county permits and inspections. On a recent historical project, they provided a full size scale photograph with and overlay of the required engineering. This was of great help in our presentation to the owners.

Services Provided

In addition to the services provided above, I must say that not only does S+A answer the phone and/or promptly return calls. They have repeatedly called me to check on the status of the projects. Also, S+A is very well aware of the urgency we have needed Engineering and has the quickest turnaround time I’ve ever experienced.
